Life In Arkansas. Is the grass greener?

The other day I was having a discussion with a couple co workers about life in Arkansas. Arkansas is a beatiful state with it's many trees, lakes, and rivers. I enjoyed growing up here and truly feel like I have taken advantage of what this place has to offer. Some people want to spend their whole life here. Yet as I move closer to graduating college in a year I find myself wanting to leave the state to pursue my career.

Truthfully Arkansas has become boring to me and does not have much to offer for young adults. There are no professional sports teams(i am a huge sports fan) and the nightlife in Little Rock is nothing special (the bars close at 2). There is no theme parks or museums and the humidity here is awful! I become more eager everyday to put this state in my rearview. I dream of a place with things to do on the weekends to reward a hard week of work, a big city with bright lights, a place where people are truly proud to live.

It's exciting knowing that I can go wherever I want. I have no restraints. I am free. I believe most of the joy in life comes from not knowing whats next on the horizon. My future is not defined and i'm eager to flip the next page in my book. Will I miss Arkansas? Yes, but the world is too big to spend your whole life in one place.
